problems to solve

Being a product designer, I'm used to define a problem in order to work out a solution. So a problem is a task to be solved and will be a starting point when developing a piece of clothing. The first problem/project is coming from biking with a skirt.
I'll start by telling you two personal revelations:

1) I love skirts and I love to wear them. They make me feel comfortable, welldressed and beautiful. I love the variety of possibilities; different lenghts, widths, shapes and prints.

2) I love to bike. To transport myself, someone else or shoppingbags, to exercise, for vacation or just for a cool sunday ride.

The combination of these two passions is causing me problems almost everyday, not least when living in Skåne, a very windy part in the south of Sweden.
Thus, I am to construct a bikable skirt. There have been similar skirt solutions like culottesbloomers, skorts, hakamas and probably many more. It's about time for a revival, don't you think?

starting a blog

I give up!
There are no clothes out there for me. I know what I want, but
I cannot find it anywhere. It doesn't have to be supercheap, though I can't afford the expensive clothing brands. Thereto it should be fair produced and made of ecologic materials. However it seems as if the ecologic and fair clothes are not made for my taste. Neither is the existing fashion trend.
I have had this problem many times before, especially in the eighties when I started to make clothes, but this time it's a disaster. Perhaps because the eighties are so back again. In all my despondens I realize it can only be solved by myself.
From now on I'm going to devote every Tuesday to make the clothes I can't buy.

I wonder: Is there anyone out there who feels the same?
If so, Please don't hesitate to leave a comment. Your input is of great value to me. It would be interesting to see if there is a market out there for my type of clothes.

Welcom to my blogg ON TUESDAY.
